My first "real" pet (one I owned by myself, not my foster parent's pets)... I got him as a kitten. I still remember how I got him. My dear friend Velvet (you can read more about her in the people section) took me to get a pet. She was going to keep this pet at her house until I was able to take him to wherever I moved to. We went to Second Chance. It was October, so I could not adopt any of the kitties there, because almost all of them were black cats. Then we went to PetSmart. We went and looked at the kitties there. I got to prince, and he just crawled right into my lap and cuddled up with me. I remember thinking how charming he was, which is where I came up with Prince Charming. I then shortened that to "Prince". Later, I got engaged, and my fiance was given care of Prince, as Velvet could no longer care for him. My fiance and I broke up, but I had no place to take Prince, so I agreed that he could keep him. I never saw him again.
